Heather Brown Barrett

Heather Brown Barrett is a poet in southeastern Virginia. She mothers her young son and contemplates life, the universe, and everything with her writer husband, Bradley Barrett. She is a Cherokee Nation citizen by birth, a member of Hampton Roads Writers where she serves on the Advisory Board and the newsletter staff, and a regular student of The Muse Writers Center.

Her poetry has appeared in The Ekphrastic Review, Yellow Arrow Journal, Black Bough Poetry, OyeDrum Magazine, AvantAppal(achia), and elsewhere. She won First Place in the poetry category at Hampton Roads Writers 2023 Writers’ Conference.
