HRW members receive discounts on our Traveling Pen Writers' Workshops and at our annual writers' conference in September. Moreover, HRW members receive a personal member page on which their publication credits may be displayed.
Come to one of our writing events to meet like-minded people, hone your craft, and gain information from our experienced instructors.
COVID POLICY UPDATE
As of August 26, we still plan to have an in-person conference. However, we have instituted the following COVID-19 policy: We are requiring that all attendees be fully vaccinated (if medically able) and be masked throughout the entirety of the conference. For those people unable to be vaccinated, we require proof of a negative COVID test performed no more than three days prior to the start of the conference.
We are working with the hotel to assure all mitigation measures are followed. The food service will be handled solely by gloved hotel staff thus alleviating the need for attendees to touch any of the serving implements. Our conference registration numbers are about half what we receive most years so crowding in any of the classrooms should not be a problem.
We undertake these measures to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you.
COVID-19 RELEASE & HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT:
By registering and attending a Hampton Roads Writers (HRW) event, you acknowledge that there is an unknown risk of exposure to COVID-19 through exposure to contaminated objects, as well as through personal contact. Such exposure carries with it a certain degree of risk that could result in illness, disability, or death. You agree to release and hold harmless HRW, its officers, volunteers, and vendors from and against all claims of damages and liability resulting from exposure to COVID-19. Registrants/Attendees also warrant that they are abiding by their state/locality laws regarding COVID-19 restrictions and mandates.
HRW is supported through the generosity of our individual members and patrons. If you haven't done so already, please consider joining HRW. We need your time, talents, and tax-deductible financial support so we can continue to provide the quality literary events you've come to know and love.
