Now in its 13th year, the Hampton Roads Writers Conference features 1 evening plus 2 full days of workshops, 2 best-selling keynoters, 2 first ten-lines critique sessions, 60 workshops during 10 breakout sessions, ten-minute agent pitches, cash prize contests for short fiction, short nonfiction, and poetry, complimentary 90-minute cocktail social, 2-hour open mic.
Tuition includes 2 continental breakfasts, 2 lunches, and a cocktail social (cash bar) with COMPLIMENTARY heavy hors d'oeuvres, entry into 1 or more of the contests, and the opportunity to pitch to literary agents.

A few need-based full and partial scholarships for tuition are available; scholarships do NOT cover pre-conference workshops or those associated meals. Contact us to inquire and be prepared to show the financial need.
*Fulltime enrollment means that you are a high school student, an undergraduate student taking a minimum of twelve credits per semester, or a graduate student taking a minimum of six credit hours per semester. Be prepared to provide a copy of your FALL 2021 class schedule (or a letter from your school that shows your intent to attend classes Fall 2021).

REFUND POLICY: Registration fully refundable until June 4, 2021; from June 5 to Aug 23 all refunds will result in a forfeiture of $75.00; from Aug 24 to Sept 13 all refunds will result in a forfeiture of $100.00; after September 13, no refunds will be issued; in the case of injury or illness, a credit for next year’s conference will be issued instead.
Registration to the conference gives HRW your implied permission to possibly include your name and/or picture in a future newsletter, on the HRW website, or on any of our social media sites.
