From Logline to Draft: Writing Children’s Picture Books–TPS Workshop

Do you have an idea for a children’s picture book but don’t know where to start? Or do you feel stuck on your current picture book project? This is a hands-on workshop that will take you from writing a logline to using notecards for the beats of your story to drafting a scene for your picture book. You’ll leave this workshop with a solid plan to complete your story.

Presenter Bio

Jen Malia is Associate Professor of English and Creative Writing Coordinator for Norfolk State University. Her #ownvoices picture book, Too Sticky! Sensory Issues with Autism, was published by Albert Whitman in 2020. She has appeared on NPR’s With Good Reason and written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, New York Magazine, Woman’s Day, Glamour, SELF, Catapult, and others.
