Hampton Roads Writers

Suzanne Ganschinietz

Suzanne is an aspiring writer who retired to Virginia Beach after working for thirty years as an architectural historian for the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Office. She published articles on architecture in Inland Architect, Prairie School Review, as well as book reviews in architectural periodicals. Her first venture into personal essays was an article published in the Style section of the Washington Post in the early 1990s. She has attended classes at the Writing Center in Bethesda, MD, the Goucher College Mid-Atlantic Creative Nonfiction Writer’s Conference, and was selected to participate in the Jenny McKean Moore program with George Washington University writer-in-residence, Beverly Lowry. She is grateful for the experience of working under the excellent direction of Lauran Strait and the members of her writers’ workshop.
