CONTEST AWARDS:
April 21, 2012 -- Third Place prize in the 2012 Charlotte Wise Memorial poetry contest (subject: America's heritage or culture) from the Poetry Society of Virginia for her poem, "Monongah's Miners," which commemorated the 1907 coal mining explosion in Monongah, WV that took the lives of 500 men and boys.
