John Mack



John Mack has been teaching dance and/or theater for the better part of 25 years. He’s been writing since he was eight. He’s owned his own theater company and his own dance studio. He also produced an album of music called Following Tao for his music project, Zen Monsters and has released one video for the title track. For his work as a dance teacher and producer, he was featured on KSAT news and Great Day SA in San Antonio, TX and in the international publication Quality in Action. In 2009, his dance company, music and photography were all featured as pre-show entertainment for the international recording artists Pink Martini.

He was published in the Milwaukee Journal and the Milwaukee Undergraduate review and wrote a monthly column called "Dancing the Rainbow" for the Dancer's Guide in central Texas. Several of his plays were produced in Wisconsin, including “Talking with Jacob” which garnered the covers of several statewide publications. In 2000, he self-published a book about dance called KEEP BREATHING: Zen and the Art of Social Dance. He has tutored in writing and has acted as a free-lance editor.

He competed in theater and debate in high school and coached for several years thereafter and has danced with students on both Ballroom and Country competition circuits, including a number of first place trophies. In his early days, he choreographed such musicals as West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar and South Pacific. More recently he helped create and coach the original Radio Disney dance team in San Antonio, TX.
