Jeff's short stories have appeared in Combat Magazine, The Goblin Reader, The Binnacle, and Whistling Shade Literary Review. He also had a nonfiction Civil War feature article published in Boys’ Life.

The opening chapter of his historical novel, The Freedom Star, won first place for fiction at the twenty-fifth annual Christopher Newport University Writers’ Conference. Richmond Magazine/James River Writers also named The Freedom Star a finalist in their inaugural Best Unpublished Novel in Virginia contest, and the book was a semifinalist in Amazon.com’s Breakthrough Novel Awards.

Jeff is close to finishing rewrites in his second novel, The Gandy Dancer and he hopes to have the manuscript to agents soon.
