Charity Ayres

Charity Ayres grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota but found her way to Virginia through her time in the Navy as an Information Systems Technician. She served for eight years before marrying her husband who will retire from the Navy in 2019. She has two beautiful daughters, two dogs, and three cats who sometimes make their way into her stories.

Though prolific in the various sub-genres of Fantasy, Charity enjoys writing anything that inspires her. She has written articles for HR News Magazine and Yahoo!. Her first published work was a short story in the book Alchemical Reactions by the Wyld Times Press titled “Fairies Among Men.” Since then, she has published four novels: Loki Bound and Loki: Hell Bound, which are set in Hampton Roads; Book One of the Guardians and Angels young adult series,Secret in the Wings; and in August 2016 her first epic dark fantasy, Ice Bound.

Charity also teaches high school English in Yorktown, Virginia. In between, she continues to be active on the Convention circuit where she participates in or moderates panels as well as teaching workshops and seminars on the various aspects of writing. With her free time, Charity enjoys spending time with her family, reading everything she can, biking, running, and continuing her education. Charity will have a Masters of Creative Writing in January 2017 and will then focus on getting her Ph.D. in English.
